Rock Solid Enterprise, LLC is a black woman-owned business that launched in September 2014 by two sisters, Darice Williams and Sheila Miles to bring about change to joblessness in underserved communities, prepare individuals who are disabled and disadvantaged to enter and/or re-enter the workforce, and to help them overcome barriers in obtaining and maintaining employment. Our “Focus on You” Job Readiness Program was designed to provide our participants (high school students and adults) with up-to-date teachings, interactive training, resources, motivation, tools, and individualized attention tailored to their specific needs that will give them a rock solid foundation to succeed in today’s job market and become self-sufficient.
Currently, all of our business comes from working with Michigan Rehabilitation Services state offices in the Metro-Detroit area serving their customers with physical, mental and learning disabilities which also include returning citizens. In addition, it is our goal and desire to work with private sector businesses. We offer comprehensive job readiness workshops, one-on-one-training, job coaching, financial literacy and have future plans to offer life skills and entrepreneurship programs. We are also developing an interactive online curriculum offering our quality workshops. Our goal is for every participant to leave our program with self-confidence, a positive experience, skills that will enrich their lives, and to be productive citizens who will make a difference in their communities.
It was a higher calling for us to go into business after we both lost our corporate jobs in the summer of 2014. Ms. Miles was let go after 30 years of service in automotive and Ms. Williams was providing job readiness training at Michigan Rehabilitation Services and was laid off due to downsizing. We took it as a blessing from God to be able to do something greater that we’ve always dreamed of—starting a business together as sisters! We are passionate co-owners who decided to join forces to build a company brand that will ultimately provide jobs, transform surrounding underserved communities, and offer quality products instrumental to our customers’ success at affordable prices.
We love giving of ourselves and our time to help others be the best that they can be and to pursue their aspirations. Together, we have over 30 years of experience in training young folks as well as adults. We strive for excellence and are committed to continually improving our services to stay up-to-date on the latest trends in the job industry. We take great pride in delivering quality services and we are dedicated to serving the needs of our customers.
